Teri was the best woman friend of my life; she stood by me during some of my more ridiculous peccadilloes, though we never became intimate, the remains one of few true loves of my life.
I met Teri as I was passing through Denver on a sabbatical tour around the country prior to attending U of C. I stayed with my friends Douglas and Mabel at an urban commune on Adams street in Denver, and Teri and her then-husband, Tom, were living there. Teri and I bonded over cooking in the kitchen in that house, and immediately became fast friends.
Over the years, we flirted with intimacy, but time and circumstance prevented such a relationship - either I was married and she single, or vice versa.
We shared a business together for a number of years, and the business relationship never interfered with our deep friendship. I will always love Teri deeply.
