I met Jimmy when I was teaching at University of Colorado in about 1991, and he was a used textbook dealer.
Jimmy showed up at my office one afternoon and offered to buy textbooks I no longer needed.
After a mutually beneficial transaction was completed, Jimmy noted that he was making some money on this deal and suggested that we spend some of it over shared drinks.
So started a life-long friendship.
