4630 W 37th Ave, Denver
This was my last home in Denver. Though I moved to Mexico in August, 2021, I kept this house as a rental for nearly two more years. I owned it from May, 2000 until May 2021.
Like every home I ever owned, I put copious remodeling effort into this one, including the following:
- I built out the unfinished basement into a bedroom suite, and rented it for the last six or so years I had the house
- The kitchen received major remodeling, with self-built cabinets and countertops.
- In-floor radiant hot water heat with six zones.
- The above represent only the major items, and there were copious small projects as well.
Though I liked this house very much, not only was I itching for a new adventure, but the cost of living in this place was becoming prohibitive. Taxes had risen astronomically to about $2400 per year, and the homeowners’ association fees had climbed to almost $6000 per year. Compare this to San Miguel with property taxes at about $300 per year, and no homeowners’ association fees.
