The rainy season has been unpredictable for the past few years, with very little rain falling for years in a row.  The Presa de Allende which flooded outlying residential neighborhoods some years ago, was little ore than a mud hole.

Then this year, in May, major rains hit causing the Arroyo de Cachinches to flow somewhat dramatically.  In September, we experienced rains so ferocious that the city wanted us to evacuate our development in the middle of the night.

We probably wouldn’t have been in any danger had we stayed home, but the near flooding conditions were pretty dramatic as seen in these videos:
