San Miguel de Allennde
I visited Mexico in April of 2021 with an eye toward moving to one of two places that captured my imagimation: One was the north shore of Lake Chapala about 26 miles south of Guadalajara, and the other was San Miguel de Allende.
After visiting both places, San Miguel appealed to me for a number of reasons, one being that I could live here easily without a car, and the other is that it is more of a cultural center than the Lake Chapala region.
I looked at a number of houses during three weeks I was here, and made an offer on a new home in a neighborhood about one mile north of the city center.
